Harvey Coleman, President

Harvey Coleman started his career by being very active in the Civil Rights movement, having
been arrested twice in “sit-ins”, was a Mississippi Freedom Rider and has had crosses burned on
the lawns of three house in which he has lived. He served three years with the U. S. Army
Security Agency where he was named Europe’s Soldier of the Year while serving in Germany
during the Berlin crisis. He then spent a total of fifteen years with Xerox and IBM in a variety of
sales and Human Resource management positions.

He left IBM in 1977 to become a partner in a New York based consulting firm (Boyle/Kirkman
& Associates), the first Women’s consulting firm formed in our country. Thirty-eight years ago
Harvey Coleman founded his own consulting firm (Coleman Management Consultants). During
this period he has taught managers in over twenty-five countries from Europe, Asia and South
America which included consulting work with England’s House of Lords; many government
agencies, the U. S. Military and many of the top fortune 100 companies. In 1986, he was voted
by the Greater Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, “Small Business Man of the year.”
Recognized both nationally and internationally as a public speaker, Mr. Coleman has been a
regular guest speaker at Emory University’s executive MBA program, IBM’s International
School in Belgium, IBM’s and GE’s Senior Management Schools. He and has been a quest
speaker at Wharton’s MBA School of Business, and the MBAs programs of Carnegie Mellon
and Georgia Tech.

Mr. Coleman has produced a ten-module video tape and workbook program entitled, “A World
of Diversity,” which seeks to capitalize on the opportunities inherent in a diverse workforce. His
first book “Empowering Yourself…The Organizational Game Revealed,” is targeted toward the
American worker and is receiving widespread critical acclaim across the country. Recently he
has published “Rules of the Game for High School/College/Life” aimed at helping young people
to understand how our system works. He has also written a Discussion Guide for parents,
teachers and youth leaders to lead young adults through topics outlined in the book.
His civic involvement extends from local to national civic boards including Chairing the Boys
and Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta; Board member of the greater Atlanta’s Boy Scouts of
America: St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation; The Neighborhood Justice Center; The North Area
Council, Atlanta Chamber of Commerce; The United Way Evaluation Committee; The Training
and Development Advisory Committee of United Way; A member of Leadership Atlanta and
was a member of the National Board of the Girls Club. Presently he sits on the Board of
Advisors of the Georgia Museum of Art, Athens, Georgia.

Mr. Coleman holds an undergraduate degree from Youngstown University and conducted his
graduate studies at Emory University’s School of Business.
